In 2024, Oura Ring’s cult following had ballooned from biohackers and wellness junkies to the mainstream zeitgeist. It had been two years since the latest heardware release and our members were getting antsy for the next update. Meanwhile in Finland, scientists, engineers and designers were putting the finishing touches on the latest evolution of the revolutionary smart ring: Oura Ring 4. Our task was to launch Oura Ring 4 as the most personal smart ring ever created.

Finland is a huge of what makes Oura unique and up until Oura Ring 4 that story hadn’t gotten its due yet. I ventured to Oulu, Finland (just south of the north pole) to document the minds behind this revolutionary piece of technology. We captured the essence of Oura, its compassionate philosophy and the rocket science that is built into every ring Oura makes.
